Too bad I have no artistic talent.

This entire summer break has been quite dream-like ... full of activities and nearly devoid of pressures. And for the first time in 3 years, I'm not looking forward to school. Yet, it doesn't seem right for a Pre-med student to be enjoying life this way. At some point, it will end. If it could just stay like this longer ...

I've realized how much things I have to finish before heading to Europe in a few days. Well, work can wait. This is summer.
Something different

I picked up a complete stranger yesterday.

I was deciding whether to take the bus or drive to school, and at the last minute, I decided to take the bus. There was a man in his mid-30s sitting at the bus stop. When I asked him if the bus had passed by recently, he told me that we had just missed it 3 minutes ago. He was carrying several baggages and was looking a bit worried, so I asked where he was headed. He told me that he was supposed to get to the airport, and that he was late because he missed the bus. Because buses come only once every 30 minutes, I thought about it for awhile, and then walked off to my car.

A minute later, I drove by the bus stop. To the man's surprise, I stopped and told him to hop in. He was stunned for awhile, and then thanked me and got in. We drove to school where I dropped him off at the other bus stop.

I think he made it in time for his flight.
No Time No Posta

It's been quite awhile since I made a post. I think I'll dedicate this post to our mysterious Kyle: DDR champion, card player extraordinaire, Starcraft expert, .., and the list goes on. Most of all, he's the guy who owns 90% of all the furniture, electronics, and systems in the living room. No one in our suite knows how he has so many connections, or how he became so good everything despite having to work much of his day.

The weird thing is that we keep on finding out more eccentricities about him everyday. Just yesterday, he got us into the theaters to watch Evan Almighty for free. The movie's not out for another 4 days. Watching free movies is almost as good as playing free laser tag every week. Oh wait, he does that too. As an old friend would say, hot damn!
Wednesday, March 28, 2007

We had a question about dragons on the genetics final. It's answers like this that make grading enjoyable:

Gao!

... and then there was one student who responded that the probability of the given situation was zero because dragons don't actually exist. Cute, but do we really need to explain?
Drum roll please ...

And the award for most misleading advertising goes to ...

... No wait, I take that back. There's not even 20 seconds of adventure in the movie, let alone action.

Anyone who still remembers the book from elementary school would agree that the kids taken in by the trailer thinking that the movie is another Chronicles of Narnia are victims of fraud.
Crytek Engine

For the first time, I can't distinguish game graphics from reality.
I wrote these a year ago. Not surprisingly, they still apply. Things about Helen:

- The
only thing she hates more than giving back massages is being reminded
     about it.

- Helen’s
tummy is beautiful. She is NOT fat; she just has high glycemic and
triglyceride levels. Poking her in the stomach will actually hurt you
infinitely more than it hurts her.

- Helen
is the epitome of being adorkable. No one else comes close … except
puppies, and maybe a clueless Osaka.

- Helen has experience with guns, and she keeps a bow in her bedroom. Don't ask her to demonstrate how to apply force.

- When Helen has a final the next day, wish her good luck, or else you'll be praying for your own luck.

- Helen’s
permanent address is not in Arcadia.
It’s actually 9450 Gilman Drive, CLICS Library 1st Floor.

- In
Helenianism, dogs are superior to cats in every way, and they are
absolutely adorable. The only thing better than a puppy is more than 1
puppy. Ironically, if Helen were an animal, she'd probably be a cat.

- After
spending a month around Helen, you’ll be able to diagram the difference
between a secondary SN1 and SN2 reaction and explain
the mechanism behind aerobic cellular respiration despite your English major.

- Helen
survives on sleep, studying, and puppies.

- Helen never has to worry about people stealing leftover water/juice bottles on her desk. They've been molding there for weeks, and the first sip is lethal.

- In
addition to the menstrual cycle, half a month before finals week, her the
hypothalamus will release a hormone whose downstream signal activates the
sympathetic nervous system and inhibits any remaining concept of relaxation.
